Big Government Divides A Nation

Divided Road Ahead

I recently came across this well thought out piece of writing from the late Dr. Adrian Rogers to whom I give my sincere thanks.

You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of ANY nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 - 2005

I agree 100%. Have you seen Obama's budget? How can he expect to tax businesses to death and use the money to bail out all the people who lose their jobs?

Downfall of the Nation

So True Alan, The incentive to not work is incredible, Yet the incentive to work hard to reap your rewards is taken away... Something is wrong with that methodology. It's the downfall of the nation.

Downfall of the Nation

So true. Incentive is given to be lazy, while it is taken away from working hard. If people rely on government it gives them more power and is the downfall of the nation.

National Socialism

That excerpt is dead on, however, our current administration seems to be acting on its socialist platform by all of its attempts to do just that. They think they can spread wealth by targeting specific individuals, which is a scary concept.

This is a great excerpt that our current administration obviously does not agree with. Their current direction seems to be take from those that have worked hard for their success and give to those that "deserve" it.
